Real-time three-dimensional surface measurement by color encoded light projection
نویسنده
چکیده
Existing noncontact methods for surface measurement suffer from the disadvantages of poor reliability, low scanning speed, or high cost. The authors present a method for real-time three-dimensional data acquisition by a color-coded vision sensor composed of common components. The authors use a digital projector controlled by computer to generate desired color light patterns. The unique indexing of the light codes is a key problem and is solved in this study so that surface perception can be performed with only local pattern analysis of the neighbor color codes in a single image. Experimental examples and performance analysis are provided. © 2006 American Institute of Physics. DOI: 10.1063/1.2352729

Surface height retrieval based on fringe shifting of color-encoded structured light pattern.
A new method of fringe shifting for color structured pattern projection is presented for three-dimensional (3D) surface height measurement. Temporal encoding of color stripes is combined with locally spatial shifting of multiple fringes to realize image acquisition with a small number of pattern projections. Object topography is retrieved with high resolution by decoding the code word of each f...

Fast and high-accuracy 3D imaging is playing an important role in scanning human face sunder dynamical change. This paper presents a single-shot technique for real-time surface profiling and texture retrieving of human face. In this technique, three fringe patterns with a carrier frequency ratio of 1:3:9 are encoded in the red (R), green (G) and blue (B) channels of a color fringe pattern and p...
متن کاملThree-dimensional measurement of object surfaces with complex shape and color distribution based on projection of color fringe patterns.
A challenging issue associated with three-dimensional (3D) fringe patterns profilometry (FPP) is the unwrapping of phase maps resulting from color object surfaces. This paper proposes a new color-projection-based 3D FPP, making use of the three primary color channels [i.e., red, green, and blue (RGB)] associated with digital projectors. One channel (e.g., red) is used for projecting sinusoidal ...

متن کاملLearning Based Compression of Surface Light Fields for Real-time Rendering of Global Illumination Scenes -5pt
We present an algorithm for compression and real-time rendering of surface light fields (SLF) encoding the visual appearance of objects in static scenes with high frequency variations. We apply a non-local clustering in order to exploit spatial coherence in the SLF data. To efficiently encode the data in each cluster, we introduce a learning based approach, Clustered Exemplar Orthogonal Bases (...
